I subscribe to the newsflow from the US website www.military.com.

Aircraft are my thing and I'm not keen on going on a rowboat on the Serpentine let alone sailing across the sea but I read the news for all the services and this caught my eye as being quite interesting hence posting the link here. As you'll read the ship and its crew had numerous problems to deal with in the lead up to the fatal collision.

Reading the report, there seems to be a very long chain of circumstances that lead up to this accident. No real suprise that the US Navy's top brass has cleared itself of any resposibility (it's never the upper management's fault - dodging the blame is what they're best at. It's the same in civilain and military life).

I'd highly recommend the news story quoted in the website - link below and best read on a laptop, desktop or tablet.
