TomCZ Posted April 18, 2019 Share Posted April 18, 2019 Hi gang, I am thinking to make Stirling Mk.III from DK Decals beautiful sheet for 100 Group. What steps are necessary to make to have Mk.III from Italeri´s Mk.I ? I have understood that new top turet is needed (can be stolen from Hasegawa´s Lancasters as in some versions it is not needed) or to make that one without. Not to drill oil collers in wings, less windows in fuselage, longer exhausts. I would not bother with other Hercules subtype. Anything else I have fotgotten ? Are there any good drawings ? Thanks. elger Posted April 18, 2019 Share Posted April 18, 2019 The mk I kit does not include the oil coolers below and later, larger air intake above each engine (these are included in the IV kit). However, the IV kit doesn't include bombs for the bomb bay, nor the necessary clear parts for the front turret which is more crucial. I can't comment on the Italeri Stirling either, but Falcon replacement canopies for other types differ for different kits of the same type. Ideally this wouldn't be needed, but in practice they have been and I've no confidence that it won't be true nowadays.
