B of B Ju-88

Hello gents;

I am not a big fan (or any fan) of the Luftwaffe but the JU-88 is a really attractive aircraft. One of the very few Luftwaffe aircraft I have an interest in building. After my research, I have found that during the BofB there were two types used. The Ju-88A-1 and the Ju-88A-5. The main visual difference between these two are the wing tips. The a-5 has the extended wings and was essentially a updated A-1 in every sense. Since there are no A-1 kits available in 1/48 scale I can do one of two things, Build the A-5 or rework the wing tips on the kit and make an A-1 Hannants seams to have decals for the A-1 but I was wondering if I use the decals that come with my ICM A-5 labeled "France, August 1940 4./LG 1 (L1+AM)" Can I presume that this aircraft would have been used during the battle of Britain? (hopefully shot down at some point)😉.
