pau10wen
Finally finished a simple-ish diorama for this build, and forgot to post it π Β I decided to add the bonnet mounted lights as an afterthought, then realised that Iβd thrown the kit ones out! Β managed to scratch build one from plastic and make do, lesson learned for the next build not to throw anything out πππ Β thanks for looking,Β and for all of the encouragement and helpful comments throughout the build...

Spiny
Looks great, a fantasitc end result. Even more of an achievement as I know how far into decal hell the Alitalia Stratos can push a builder.

I ended up mixing and matching Tamiya paints to spray the green under the front/nose as the decal was insane?! Β ive calmed down now π€ͺ

I havenβt seen many of the same kit knocking around anymore? Β the engine is an aftermarket kit bought separately, the front βbootβ is all scratch built bits and bobs. Β cutting the body about caused a lot of problems, which I then had to solve! Some swearwords have been used during the build π

PatW
Fantastic job! As an ex-race and rally marshall we could hear the Stratos from miles away in the forests on the RAC rallies that we attended, superb and very noisy!

Alan R
Many years ago (probably about 30) someone drove a Ferrari 246 Dino into our quiet little cul-se-sac, even at tick-over it was loud! I believe that the engine in the Stratos was basically the same unit, without even the minimal silencing that the Dino had! Still, it was an awesome noise... Β Cheers, Alan. PatW
Yes Alan, that was just the engine! As an ex-kit car builder I looked at buying one of the Hawk Stratos kits. The most popular and affordable engines was the Fiat 2 litre twin cam. With the lightweight of the kit that engine was both powerful and economic.Β
