epozar
What are those colors?? Captioned: "A very rare color photograph of a Bf 109 B-1 being the centre of attention for a group of Hitler Youth, obviously on a visit to a Luftwaffe station in 1938" in Aviation Classics issue 18, 2012https://www.worldwarphotos.info/gallery/germany/aircrafts-2/messerschmitt_bf109/messerschmitt-bf-109-color-15/
Graham Boak
I would suggest a 71/02 splinter with thin overspray of 02 with a light mottle of 71 and 65 underside.

Sie ist bereits, wie viele spätere Jumo-Maschinen, mit den Auspuffstutzen der Bf 109 E ausgestattet worden. A school machine. Like many later Jumo machines, it has already been equipped with the exhaust sockets of the Bf 109 E. from here https://me109.info/web.php?a=e&l=en&n=ua&f=1370 Given ww2 colurs photography, and depending on date, either the 1940 71/02/ 65 scheme, or a full repaint into standard 74/75/76. note Me 109D CF+SE of the Schule/Flieger-Ausbildungs-Regiment 13, Pilsen 1941 given the Stammkennzeichen, I assume it's identity is known?
Graham Boak
Er, the Stammkennzeichen is its identity. I entirely agree that the date is wrong. In 1938 Bf109Bs would be in 71/72 over 65, with a low demarcation. There was another published photo of a training Jumo Bf109, in one of the Kookaburra L/w colours books, probably the replacement first volume? PS Shame he didn't photograph the Stosser. FatFlyHalf
I'm no expert but I think Troy is right. Later than the date of 1938 (by a mile) and the camo pattern on the wings doesn't look 'standard' in layout either.

Super Aereo
IIRC, the date of the photograph should be 1942 rather than 1938. 1
