Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XVI 1/72 Heller

Recommended Posts

I started this model very long ago, so it's time to finish it. Every model is familiar, it's old, but I'm always cute old models. I did not want to correct any manufacturer errors, but I did it directly from the box. I did not even change the decals, which are green instead of white. I like it. Here's the picture, enjoy it.

I built that one some time ago, didn't realise the lettering wasn't supposed to be green!

I actually like these models straight from the box, warts and all. Takes me back I guess.

  • 1 year later...

The radiators are too deep, more like a Griffon engined XIV, than a Merlin engined IX sub-type like a Mk. XVI.

I'm not sure I agree about the canopy being too bulbous but we each have our own perception of these things.
