THE_COMBAT_WOMBAT
Hi, For my next build I was wondering, what I should build. I eventually decided on a tiger moth. What are some good kits in 1:48th and 1:72 scale for the tiger moth?
Rabbit Leader
In 1/72 scale the new tool Airfix Tiger Moth is a real beauty and if you buy the Series 2 box is also comes with RAAF decals as well. Airfix are also planning to do a Tiggie in 1/48 scale, however this has now been pushed out to December this year - perhaps save this larger one for Christmas. Cheers.. Work In Progress
Avoid the old Airfix 1/72 kit, which can be found in all these packages https://www.scalemates.com/kits/airfix-1400-dh-tiger-moth-ii--170910 This is the good Airfix 1/72 kit, dating from 2014 https://www.scalemates.com/kits/airfix-a01024-havilland-dh82a-tiger-moth--253775 Also avoid the SMER / Merit / Aurora 1/48 kits. If you can find one (it's long out of production) the Aeroclub one is in 1/48 is very good but out of production. But you might find one in somewhere http://www.hyperscale.com/2008/features/tigermothdv_1.htm The forthcoming Airfix 1/48 kit will probably be fine, when it comes out.
