One of the options in the 72nd hasegawa Crusader III (I got a part built one for free) and a the Airfix 32nd one is this,

6th Armoured Div, Tunisia 1943 ?

Just wondering what the thoughts on the tank colour might be?  SCC2 ?  red-white-red side flash?

In recent past, Mike Starmer has suggested a low contrast scheme of Khaki Green and Dark Tarmac.   Some photos of other Valentines involved with the Torch landings do seem to show two colours:

On this particular tank I think SCC.2 brown.  However, what is not obvious is the RAC flash on the front plate hidden in reflections and there would be one on the rear plate too.  Middle Bronze Green was not a colour used on vehicles during WW 2.  This information originated in B.T. White's book of 1978 based on the flawed assumption that the Khaki, Dark and Light Greens of 1940 were renamed pre-war bronze greens whereas they were a series of new colours.

Thank you Mike

By  a flash hidden, I presume you mean one like this on this Covananter?

This photo looks to be from Tunisia as there appears to be the Red/White/Red ID stripe on the front of the hull and also on the side stowage bin.
6pdr Crusaders never had a muzzle brake but some (like the one in the wikipedia pic below) did have a counterweight

don't know if caption is correct,  from http://armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=SquawkBox&file=index&req=viewtopic&topic_id=243226&page=1

very faded flash?   Any idea of colours on this?

the other option in the Hasegawa kit is

Crusader 1 Arm. Div. 9 Queen's Lancers,  T126709

which in the instructions shows a scheme not unlike this, from this by @Mike Starmer on Missing Lynx

The images here show  some mid-1942 ad hoc designs and the October 1942 pattern.  The basic colour for this was specified as Desert Pink ZI with preferably dark green pattern and alternative black.  As yet veterans have told me they only recall yellow and green and black or pink with green or black in this pattern.

any idea what the colours for Crusader 1 Arm. Div. 9 Queen's Lancers,  T126709 were?

Would the October 1942 pattern be appropriate, and what likely colours.  Looks like an interesting scheme to replicate.
