notflip
Hi Everyone, Second post on the forum, I bought my first model (airplane) and I'm ready to start painting. Unlucky for me, the first paint I'll ever do will be a mix, since it's the base color of the airplane. Now I'm wondering, if I mix the paints in a plastic cup, can I use the mix for a long time? Or will it run dry, go bad after minutes, hours, days? Looking forward to your responses
JosephLalor
If it’s an open container the mix will certainly dry out in hours. You might get more life out of your mix if it’s in an airtight container. I’ve heard of people using film roll containers for storage. Abandoned Project
Can I suggest being a bit more specific about which airplane and which paint you are referring to? Also posting in the relevant aircraft discussion might get you some detailed advice on building and painting.
Nocoolname
Revell Aqua dries pretty fast especially the flat colours. When mixed in a pallet mine started to dry within minutes and was fully dry in around an hour. When mixed in a sealable jar the maximum it would last would be a couple of days. But that was with a relatively small amount. The greater the volume of paint the longer it’s likely to last.
