Soeren
So here you go, the Hetzer I recently bought. Just wanted to do an OOTB build. Now this is as far as I can reasonably go before starting to lay down some paint. Also the type of scene it will be placed in was decided by the fact that I bought 2 of the same Tank commanders by mistake. That is a what if figure from the MAIM Schwabenland ´46 series. They got some really crazy figures and I ordered a few to match the scene. Should be some fun. For the paintjob I had a look at some late Hetzers and found an amazing picture. I would assume the paint to be yellow, green and brown. But also saw a masking sheet by MXpression that suggests, yellow, Reseda and olive. Might be interesting as well. BlackMax12
Looks interesting. The 3 color camo really works on these little guys. It's not a Panther though Soeren. Take care, Lloyd
Hamden
Like the Hetzer will follow along if you don't mind? Roger
bigfoot
Nice start, I’ve just built one of these as an OOB (pretty much) quick build. It’s a decent little kit. Will look good in that 3 tone scheme I think.
Soeren
Hey there, you are welcome to take a seat. Got some additions today. The recon specialist with two drones and some spare heads. These are of the Gen 1 series of 3d printed figures. will see how these turn out after primer. Now have to figure out the ground work for this. he heads look a bit large, but have a lo of gear on them of course, hope they match Dragon figures, etc.
Soeren
Good evening, after having now finished the Jagdpanther I went back to the Jagdpanzer 38t. Decided to go with the kit figres and just add the Fantasy Heads. These are printed, so will see if it will be too obvious when base coated.
Soeren
While browsing for new projects, and unfortunately it didn´t take too long to identify the next bottomless hole for my money 😔, I cleaned up all the figures this week and did the tracks. And these LL tracks are fantastic, easy to clean up, easy to do. A real joy. Edited September 25, 2019 by Soeren

Soeren
Hey there, finally got back to this. Once I figured I couldnt accurately get the camouflage right with Panzer Putty I ordered those stencils. Second note, once all details are glued in place you have a hard time to lay the stencils flat. So there are some soft transitions that I already gave an initial glazing pass of colours. A few more and these should be almost gone and once wheathered I guess you won´t notice anymore. None the less, the camo looks nice considering the shapes and colours.
FrancisGL
Hi Soeren, Hetzer is not my favorite vehicle, but I see that you are doing a magnificent job, and the material that will accompany it also looks very good. Very good with the camo mask, it was perfect ... Cheers mate 👍

Soeren
Here you go some update. Worked with some AK dark panel liner and started wheathering. Vallejo mud behind the tracks, you dont see that anymore really and then some pigments and Dust washed mostly on the wheels, tracks and lower hull, but also some on the top area.

Jasper dog
Hi Soeren, looks really good. The masks have worked well, at first glance they look quite complex affairs to apply but worth the effort clearly. Any issues with them?. Great weathering going on too, track finish looks particularly good. Good photography really helps too. Cheers Darryl

The masks were vinyl and quite stiff. The more of the surface feature you keep off the tank before painting the easier these should lie flat. Also because of the complex camo it wasn't easy to align the patches between colors and I didn't get it perfect. But close enough to my taste.

Soeren
Thanks guys. I am indeed not unhappy with the camouflaged uniform. Use the ak paintset here and the paints work nice out of the bottle and are dead matt in appearance. Highly recommended.
Redcoat2966
That does look the part Soeren......really nice job. I'm planning on some examples of these extreme camo' schemes in the future, so might go for a Hetzer myself..... great job all round mate...... Simon. Soeren
Hey there and thanks for the comment. Here is an update. Did a few highlights on the commander and added the second figure. Some touchups still rewuired. Also did weathering on the gun and side skirts. Didnt add the MG34 because it wont fit with the figures in place. Also the cable on te back of the hull will most likely be left off. There are no mounting points and I seem to lose the fun on this kit that was basically a try out for different things. But I might try the AK pencils on this one before calling it finally done.
