Hockeyboy76
Just a place holder, details to follow soon. And here they are Only have a Hawk to finish in the Trainers GB, then a Prowler and Growler in the Specialist GB. But probably won’t let that me stop me starting it. Hockeyboy76
Just got this badger out of the box for a nose about of the sprues. Raised panel lines, I will live with them, far too many to rescribe. Then at the bottom I found a white metal lump. Bit of an odd shape for a nose weight. On closer inspection it looked like a air to air refueller pod. Funnily enough, just like the pod on the box top! The one I just glanced at thinking it was a drop tank
helios16v
Yep, it's an old bit of kit. I've got a couple in my stash. 1 to do up as a VS-29 S-3B, and the other to convert to ES-3A specs. Got the conversion pieces...just need to figure out how I'm going to do the VQ-5 decals. Wolfpack makes a nice little wingfold kit for these too...in case you didn't know. 😉
Hockeyboy76
Made a little progress with this. Cockpit has been made and is drying under a coat of primer. I also removed the wings from the sprues and had a look at the open flap option. It leaves a huge gap between the top and bottom wings if you fit the flap in the correct lowered position. Anyone with the kit will know what I’m rambling on about. Photos to follow when I have finished painting the cockpit. Romeo Alpha Yankee
I agree with Dermot, the cockpit looks very nice. Who needs resin when decals look so good!
nimrod54
Lovely job H. I built one of these many years ago when I had a 1/72 US Navy theme going on, I remember it being a nice kit to put together, but due to a lack of display space, it is now gathering dust on top of a bookcase. I still have a couple of kits in the stash that I didn't get around to at the time, including a Douglas Skywarrior.

That’s probably where this will end up once it’s built
Hockeyboy76
This was it before the gloss varnish Somehow managed to apply with a Matt varnish. Promptly changed to gloss, still waiting for it to dry.

Nikolay Polyakov
Yeah! You chose a very colorful scheme!
Hewy
Looks great h, I've got one of these on my to do list, (although I don't seem to finishing much off at present) your scheme really sets it off, smart job

I do have the old Airfix boxing and it was that artwork that I loved.

Always remember our hobby should be fun, the minute the fun stops, put it in the box, start something else😋 1

This one is available: https://www.fantasyprintshop.co.uk/shop/wolfpak-72-083-bad-muthas/ Getting back to H's progress, this one is looking great. It always puzzled me that Hasegawa's kit included so many open/extended fixtures (FLIR turret, MAD boom, slats) but not the wing fold or weapons bay (both of which IIRC are options in the Airfix kit).
Hockeyboy76
Finished. Not sure why I lost the mojo for this. Not up to my usual standards but it will do. Now to find a bookcase to put it on top of. More pics in the gallery.
nimrod54
You may of lost your mojo a little during the build of this one buddy, but that is still a great result and a colourful scheme too.
Alan P
Well done, really like the scheme. Not an easy build, but you got a great result. Alan
Jabba
The tail markings and the fuselage stripe brighten up the grey scheme. Nice build and well done.
