David Womby
This is the first helicopter I have built since 1969! I added some seats (stolen from a Revell Sea King) and cargo to the interior and dolled up the cockpit a bit. Externally, I added the entry step and some antennae and some underside piping. I should have run an antenna wire along the lower post fuselage but I always break them later so I am going to skip it. She has no winch but that's because I have a photo of this exact aircraft and she wasn't carrying one then. The mainwheels were far too big so I used these unknowns from the spares box. The Frog decals were bliss. Good colour saturation, in register, not yellowed, no cracking and went down perfectly with a little MicroSet. In fact, they were some of the easiest decals I have ever used despite being at least 46 years old. Some of the photos use flash to show the inside and the undersides (it also, unfortunately, highlights all the flaws!!!). Comments and suggestions welcomed. Lord Riot
Love it, that looks brilliant! In my experience Frog kits aren't the most detailed but you've made this Wessex very realistic.

Pat C
Nice Wessex David - I understand the Frog kit is reputed to be more accurate in outline than the Italeri one. Pat
Britman
I have always thought of the FROG Wessex as a good honest kit. As mentioned earlier, it is a great starting point for upgrading to your own satisfaction, like many FROG kits. In many ways they can be like a very good quality short run kit. perdu
I prefer the Frog Wessex to any of the others on the market Except the oddly oversize wheels, perfect in outline You have made a delightful Wessex for us Thank you for sharing
bryanm
Lovely - a real blast from the past! It always was a good kit and yours is just right. Interesting re the decals - I always thought FROG decals were some of the best. Was there a tie-in with Modeldecal or is my memory playing tricks?

Orion
Hello David, If you can make a nice model from Frog. I must consider you a master modeler. The model looks great. Was the model also from that time area (1963) Regards, Orion
