Greg Law
This is my fall back project in case the Ju 188 becomes too big of a project to get finished in time. It is rather like the Oscar I had in the background during the Pacific group build. This is the Me 262 A1a/U3. It was a photo recon plane used at the end of the war. The scheme I have chosen is shown here. I'm guessing it have been used during the Ludendorff Bridge attacks. So it fits with my end of the year project as well. I will be adding the Aims resin correction kit, Eduard Pe and masks. This one will have the nose open to show off the cameras. @Rich. Is this ok for the GB seen as it is a specialist recon machine. Greg Law
You know I'm only kidding don't you........ This isn't the recon kit. It is the bridge bomber kit. The recon kit is still on the way. It is the Me 262 A1-U3. I will put it up next week all going well. Really though I have to admit to a senior moment this morning and only five hours sleep last night which made me think I was photographing the recon kit. I really need that pension.😑 I have updated the main image with some temporary images. I will get some better ones when the kit arrives. BerndM
Looks like a very nice project and the resin camera bay will make it Special as well the color scheme. The Hobby Boss Me 262 kits have a good reputation.
trickyrich
arrr ok....I only saw the edited images...if you hadn't mentioned anything I doubt anyone would have nice, now........ yeah a senior moment. Not that I'm one to talk! Another Me-262....can't have enough of them I reckon...hmmm maybe it's time for the Me-262 STGB #2! I do like this one and the AM stuff sounds interesting. I somehow years ago ended up with a 1/72 resin Recce nose for one of these, gosh knows if I'll ever use it. Good luck with this one, hopefully the model gods will bless you and you'll be able to finish them both!

Greg Law
All the parts have arrived today. Did some work on it last night. I have to decide if I will go with cutting the fuselage or just use the cameras.
Greg Law
First progress images. I spent a couple of hours this morning on my recon Me 262 working on the camera addon. It is a nice set, but I decided not to use much of it in the end. The main reason for this is the metal part that acts as a weight can't be used. The solid resin parts may compensate for this, however I decided it wasn't worth all the trouble as you don't see all of the cameras once installed. So I cut the barrel lens off and will just install the top half. I will also only open one side. By the time I decided this I had cut the holes for the lens and installed the PE floor. In the end it will look a lot like it was supposed to anyway. Sorry for the blurry image.
Mottlemaster
i managed to get enough weight in the front of the two engines to keep my claer nose bomber conversion on the ground where i had no space for any nose weight .
GREG DESTEC
Nice! I have a Hobbyboss 262, So I'll be dropping by to see how you're one progresses. Cheers Greg 👍

I have that one as well. Looks like I'm going to do two of these at the same time. This will save painting time and thinner. I'm doing the standard kg51 bomber version along side this one. At the moment they are both at the same point. I will have to go back to the farm and get my camera stand so I can take some clear photos. Greg Law
Good progress on the Me 262's interiors. Got all the main paint work done this morning and this afternoon did a lot of detail painting. Unfortunately I have to get some work done tomorrow which will slow me down for a few days. I must say I'm enjoying these builds.☺ Photos soon.
Greg Law
I am really wee weed right now. I ordered my PE for the second Me 262 by fast track postage and as there has been no sign of it I checked the shipping order and it has been sent normal post which means it won't be here for at least another week. Then I checked the Me262 kit I ordered and it is 1/72 not 1/48 that is my fault...🙄 Edited April 17, 2019 by Greg Law

Although frustrating, you'll eventually get over the slower postage however nothing's gonna make that 1/72 kit grow into a 1/48 one? What was going on there mate, did your order it at the wrong end of the day? Anyway - a 1/72 build might be a nice memory jogger for you as I'm sure like most of us you probably started off in this scale many years ago. Cheers.. Col.
Best order a kit for that PE to save it going to waste
trickyrich
I've done the 1/72nd 1/48th order mix up before (actually a couple of times, or the double-up trick), have a set of 1/72nd resin wheels for a Bf-110 with nothing to go on!
Greg Law
Not to worry I'm almost over it now. I have been a bit off the last few days with itchy eye issues. They way they changed my post made me laugh. I won't use that word again. Well I'm off to the model bench.
Greg Law
One more bit at the cherry............ I have found I also ordered the wrong PE set. I ordered the one for the two seater nightfighter. I already have that. Unbelievable............. Anyway did some detail painting today.
Greg Law
BNA have kindly offered me to return the mistaken order, but I have since found out that Eduard have stopped making the PE for all the Hobby Boss Me 262A-1 kits. It must because they are self adhesive. Maybe they had trouble with them. As I need the seat belts I will use the ones out of the two seater set. I was happy to do the out of the box build, but I need the seat belts. Changed mind. Ordered a seat belt set instead. Been working on the Me 262's again this morning. Photos won't be far away. Greg Law
This is my almost completed work on the cockpit. I will move ahead on the Recon plane now as I have to wait for the seat belts for the other one. Each one is a little different. One is OB and PE seat belts and the recon one has some PE in it. The photo is a little washed out by the natural light. This has also shown me a little pool of panel liner that needs attending to.

Greg Law
Thanks Dave. Here is a few more shots of the Recon one. One side will be open and the other closed. I must say I'm enjoying this build.
Greg Law
This is the Kg51 plane. I will be closing this one up so I thought I would show what is under the bonnet first.
