KingTiger435
I am making a 1:72 Lanc' and Halifax, one in gloss, one in matt, one in gloss and can't decide which looks better, I wonder what types of paints people us here. Nikolay Polyakov
As for me, the semigloss finish looks better on 1:72nd scale models. As an experiment, you can mix your own coat (70% matt with a 30% gloss varnish, for example). Cheers! 🙂 Edited March 27, 2019 by Nikolay Polyakov
NPL
never plain flat. But paint + gloss + decals + matt or semimatt.
Lord Riot
I haven't made a Lanc, but for all my 50s to 80s RAF stuff I use satin.
magpie1832
Semi does look better. I mix Vallejo satin with Klear. 1 part satin : 3 part Klear. Looks good and covers in one coat.
