Everytime another of your Tomcats appear they manage to surpass the previous one. This has to be my favourite so far, love the "dull gull" analogy. Pretty much prefer the plain Jane look, and this fits the bill in its entirety. The finish with the weathering is the dogs dangly bits, you can be justifyibly proud of the whole thing.

I do like the list of aftermarket parts, that along with the extensive photos will allow an F14 novice (like me) which parts to pick and choose. Yeah I know "all of them". Interesting paint choice in my book as i've never tried any of those before, more food for thought.

Thanks again Tony for the time and trouble that you've taken over the whole of your Tomcat collection. I always manage to find something new with each one.

Wow, that is awesome!

I doubt that my builds could stand up to such close-up photography, like your work obviously can!

Recently I've started to get a taste for building a 1/72 F-14.

Most of the online talk seems to centre around the Hasegawa (later tooling) and Fine Molds kits, with a smattering of Fujimi.

I don't recall big accolades for the Hobbyboss kit, but your skills certainly make it look a gem.

:clap::worthy:

Superb, Tony. There aren't many models that can stand such close-up photography👏

Who doesn't love a Tomcat? I actually like the toned down F14s. Shows off the sleek lines of the aircraft.

That's a thing of beauty right enough. The details you have captured could easily have people think this is 1/48 or larger.

Thanks very much lads.

Also @whiskey , seen that photo of 206, similar scheme but obviously an earlier rendition with colour in the squadron insignia and the large colour star and bars. BuNo is not legible nor quoted so may not even be the same jet as they could change from year to year.

However this picture, even though it cannot confirm nor deny the superscale sheet shows jets close enough that it convinced me to give it a go-

Picture from  Seaforces.org.

Shows 3 tps and 2 dull gulls all with the same markings.

Note small black insignia on gulls, modex numbers look like they are 204 & this 206 in the centre.

TPS are 211, 212 and the left one is illegible?

Picture dated 1988.
