Hewy
I'm doing the Israeli M60 A1 blazer, from academy I've got 2 lots of pe for it, one for the academy us m60 a1 and the other set for the italeri m60a1 blazer kit, I'm hoping to cherry pick from both to give this old kit a bit of a makeover,
PlaStix
Great looking idea for a project Glynn. Having seen your superb builds in the Panzer IV GB I'm really looking forward to seeing this in progress. Kind regards, Stix

Kind regards, Stix Cheers stix, I like doing lighter shades of paint on models , I know it restricts my choices of subject, but I find dark colours are very difficult for me to enjoy painting and make look interesting , you can do it, with your 35 th panzer in th gb, and that looked superb, but that's why I chose the idf blazer, not dark green, but it has the option of a sun bleached look, and that's why I'm doing a dunkelgelb tiger in the gb later in this year Edited March 24, 2019 by Hewy
Plasto
Does the kit have the ‘rubber’ tyres as seperate Vinyl parts?

No plasto, everything in the box is styrene, apart from the tracks, but according to the kit reviews even these are pretty good
Plasto
Interesting I have the USMC M60A1 RISE boxing and the road wheel tyres are a seperate part.. Still Academy are always tweaking kit contents. have fun with the build...

Mine is an old kit, but I've not looked on scalemates plasto they would give the time line of the kit, yours is probably a newer molding, fun dead ahead 👍
Badder
Hi Glynn, Good luck with your build. It looks to be a nice kit, and suitably 'bitty' for your style of painting methinks. Rearguards, Badder 1

PlaStix
There looks to be some really nice detail in there Glynn and I do like kits that provide figures and some stowage. Kind regards, Stix Edited March 25, 2019 by PlaStix

Kind regards, Stix It does look OK, the kit harks back to 1993 so it can be forgiven a bit of finer detail I suppose, although I do have the etch sets for italeri and academy m60a1, s
Silenoz
enjoy this one... builds rather good, my only problem was the gaps between the polycaps and the wheelcentre...

BerndM
Looks like a good kit to build and the pe parts will add a lot of fine details. ( quite fiddly that stuff )
Hewy
Thanks its a decent kit by the looks of it, and reviews I'm looking forward to building it, but I'll decide at the time between the choice of the kit part or pe, it isn't always a better option as you know, I usually end up with pe spares, which do come in handy on other builds, but still old pe frets are mounting up 😳, thanks bernd
Asmodai
Academy's M60s all had their origins as copies of the Tamiya kit when they started their company up. At least they picked a decent kit to copy! There are still artifacts of the 70s Tamiya kits motorization holes on the lower hull. Good luck with your build.
Hewy
I'll be lightening the painting on my blazer in some areas, but what about the starting colour, after looking at blazers on the net I have seen 2 completely different colours, the darker one I think is "idf sinai grey 82" which seems to be the colour of most modern idf tanks, but why do I see the odd blazer in a lighter idf sand 73 colour, more to the point what colour am I going to paint mine🙄, Any help would be much appreciated Edited March 31, 2019 by Hewy
modelling minion
Can't help you with the colours Glynn but I'm sure your build will turn out to be just as good (if not better) than your usual very high standard.

Corsairfoxfouruncle
Thats the nice thing about doing Israeli armor. No one can tell you that its wrong. The israeli’s have done so much, to so many systems. That you could have an entire group build, just on there shermans alone.
Mig Eater
You could always just mix the two paint colours together

Now that I would definitely join. If it's any help Glynn, my Magach is of a similar time period, and I'll be using Vallejo's IDF Sand Grey. If it's wrong, then it's wrong, but that's the way that I'm going. John. Edited April 1, 2019 by Bullbasket 2
