I must admit I'm having fun doing it. A lot of fettling but very few episodes of bad language 🙂 I was wandering which is easier enabling an old time kit to fit or simply making it yourself. In my experience, building from scratch is much easier than trying to adapt an old kit. Martian 👽
JohnWS
Terrific work Kev ... even if there are no guns or torpedoes. BTW, you mentioned earlier that "I did post the work on the lifeboat/punt but it seems to have disappeared." I remember that build & found it here - https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234971278-mgb658-scratch-built/&page=34&tab=comments#comment-3225417 in your MGB 658 thread. longshanks
Back at the bench after a fantastic long weekend with Dads inc. the IPMS show at Cosford. Time for some home improvements, namely the roof. I wanted to portray a slate roof where they have used small low grade slates e.g. Definitely hair shirt time. To give texture to the slates each tile is made from two thicknesses of 0.1mm card, the top one cut 0.5mm shorter. The edge had a rotary grinder bounced along the edge before cutting (hacking) the corners off. The slates being 2 x 4mm overall. Then individual slates were painted with multiple shades Hope you like them . . . Kev 16

stevehnz
Hell Kev, that's a work of dedication if ever I saw one, but worth it, the effect is great, as is this whole dio as it comes together. Your patience for this small stuff amazes me. Steve.

longshanks
Another first for this build courtesy Dan / Cosford a ' Grassinator ' plus static grass Pleased with the effect. Not so pleased with the belt I got, not once but twice Doooh! I still can't believe the jolt I got from two AA batteries. Next new discipline rust . . . . One galvanised roof aged and rack dressed and overall with bits just resting in place Thanks for stopping by, hope you like it . . .
