TheBaron
Quite simply superb Kev. I can hear the sea from here! It's been a pleasure discovering your work: only sorry I didn't find it sooner. I take it you won't be buying any of these soon? http://germania-figuren.com/gx2/1-72-Figures-from-Resin/1-72-PHERSU-Miniaturen-Resin/animal---Birds/Seagull.html 1

Kev As you recently pointed out Kev, I have skin so thick, many rhinoceroses would be jealous of it so I'm voting for seagulls. Seriously though, although I too have no love of the creatures, especially when they do their business all over a newly valeted Sarah-Jane or my re-fitted launch but there would more than likely be one or two hanging about in a scene like this. Seahawk
More lovely workmanship. If you will excuse another of my picky observations, the door and window are distressed but the masonry on the shed walls looks as if it's just been repointed. Looking at buildings down that way last week, masonry seems to weather to a mid to dark grey shade often with a slight hint of brown. You might also like to add a splash or two of vivid orange lichen on the roof. I'd also vote for more moss and general green gunk: this building will have been subject to rain, drizzle and spray for at least 3/4 of the year. Apologies for being picky. It's just that you have got so much right I feel impelled to help you get that final few percent. And the absence of similar comments from me on your abandoned boat at Marazion is an indication that I thought it was absolutely perfect.

In this case you have reinforced my chain of thought. I've been experimenting with how best to portray the moss/lichen. The weathering of the building Im leaving until it is more or less complete.. 9 hours ago, Seahawk said: this building will have been subject to rain, drizzle and spray for at least 3/4 of the year. Are you suggesting that the weather here is perhaps not what the Tourist Board would have you believe? Thanks for the suggestions Kev

Perhaps even more surprised were the 'Emmets' visitors 🙂 A mixed bag today as I play around with various bits 'n pieces. Rudder 'n pintles Net complete with metal and cork floats I wanted to have some fish boxes so . . . Note if making boxes it's a lot easier to make the sides longer and trim afterwards. For gluing I work on a piece of glass and use a square to hold the piece in position until set Now onto veg, ivy(?) Next we need the jury in. I've been looking at moss on the main roof using various textures Pumice powder in three grades 120,240 & 360 Micro balloons & sanded insulation board Ground dry mint & Ground tea leaves Which do you prefer? Remember there is no right or wrong answer but your input would be appreciated. Sorry it's been a bit long winded Thanks for stopping by Kev

The insulation board next to it gives a good feel of lichen too! I remain in total awe of your texture/colour skills...
Seahawk
I think less is more. I hesitate to offer advice to someone with your observational skills and creative flair but I'd just be adding a little in selected crevices between the slates, for which the 360 pumice, as finest grade, seems best suited to me. PS The colours on that sheet of galvanise just look so right!
Dads203
I think a mixture Kev, I like the Tea mix for its texture and I think the micro balloons have a place but the 120 pumice also looks good. Not suggesting you mix them all up together but using a combo in different areas might give you what you need mate
JohnWS
Hi Kev. I found this photo of moss on a slate roof, on the 'net. IMHO, I agree the textures look close to that made using a combination of the two micro balloons & sanded insulation board samples. 1 hour ago, longshanks said: Micro balloons & sanded insulation board PS: The net, rudder & fish boxes look pretty good, too. robgizlu
Kev, a far easier way to do this, is to get your mate to send you some Silfor "MiniNatur" clumps and there's some ivy there too if you want http://www.sceneryexpress.com/LATE-SUMMER-MOSS-PADS-SILFLORETTES/productinfo/MN74723S/ Pm sent Rob

stevehnz
I'd go with the middle row on this too, micro thingys & sanding dust, looked the most convincing to my eye. @JohnWS's photo very much the clincher. The rest is looking good too. Steve.
