Alternatives to Humbrol acrylic hemp

I’ve about to start spraying my Victor and have concerns about the Humbrol acrylic hemp.

I’ve brush painted the intakes and, in my opinion, it is pretty poor compared to the Tamiya paints that I’m used to.

Does it spray OK, or should I be looking for an alternative?

If you are happy to use an aerosol, you have 2 options. In acrylic, Riolett UK will make up an exact match for you in gloss, satin or matt. In enamel, Halfords camouflage Khaki (in the blue tins) but that is matt only.

If it helps, here's the formula for Hemp (BS 4800/10B21) from the Humbrol Colour Sstem manual (enamel only):

44 parts No. 34 (Matt White)

32 parts No. 94 (Matt Brown Yellow)

6 parts No. 109 (Matt WWI Blue

3 parts No. 186 (Matt Brown)

Overcoat with Clear Satin when dry.

We make a specific match for this too.

Of course you do, and my apologies for not mentioning it! The original poster mentioned Humbrol, and I just happened to have my Humbrol Colour System manual lying in front of me. I have about three dozen tins of Colourcoats in various colors, all good.

Hemp is also available as Xtracolor X016 and Xtracrylic XA1016. And Hemp is available from Humbrol as an enamel; it's No. 168.
