1/48 RAF Tornado Gr.4 ~ 617 Sqn

Very nice, looks like you overcame the fit issues very well indeed.

I think Eduard missed a chance with their reboxing of the Tornado, they've picked the wrong mark I think, especially with the retiring of them from RAF service

Or Eduard is just warming up for the main event!

Saying which, Revell would have to put the GR4 back into production; it isn't in the current line-up (though the IDS is).

Doubt if the F3 is still in production, probably what's left of the ones they didn't sell first time around 😉

Yes, they did pick the wrong Tornado, totally agree.

Very nice! May I ask what brand and shade of grey you used? I’ve a couple waiting to be built!

I used Hataka laquers. They do a modern RAF set which has barley grey in it. They paint very well with an airbrush.

Stunning work.

May I ask how you get your canopy so shiny?

Many thanks.

I used Tamiya polishing compounds. They come on 3 grades with 3 desperate cloths for rubbing them in. The canopy was pretty good straight out the box, however the compounds just gave it that little bit extra.
