nheather
Just bought some Vallejo paints, five Model Color and two Model Air. Six of them are fine, some pretty much cover in one coat, the lighter ones will need a few coats and the Model Air would clearly benefit from airbrushing (which is how they will be applied). But one, Model Color 70.993 White Grey, is behaving very peculiarly. To look at, it seems okay but when I apply by brush it is like it is all media and hardly any pigment. The paint looks like varnish as it is applied - what little pigment there is seems to disappear. And this isn't a matter of 'more coats needed' I've tried four coats and it still looks like varnish. It is almost like I have a bottle of mostly medium. I have made sure it is mixed thoroughly, shaking on an agitator and even taking the top off and stirring - there is no sludge at the bottom. Anyone else seen something like this - have I got faulty paint? Cheers, Nigel
Space Ranger
I've never used Vallejo Model Color or Model Air, but this sounds like a bad batch of paint to me.
BadKarma75
I’ll second the bad batch vote, I use vallejo model air including alot of white grey on swimbo’s dolls house and never had a problem like that, think you got unlucky Matt
