silberpferd Posted March 16, 2019 Share Posted March 16, 2019 Hello, Just checked a few pictures, so the lights on the vertical stabilizer are clear, and those on the wings tips should be red on the left and blue on the right (but look green when when the light is on). I was meaning uncolored, but it is more white than clear. my mistake. Since oct 42, P40s had a possibility to change the color of tail light(nav light) to identification purpose. When used as navigation light the lens is clear frosted. When required as identification light, narrow beam "resin" lenses, red; green or clear replace the standard lens on each side. There was a lens stowage box installed in the fuselage to receive the unused lenses. The cable of tail lights was disconnected of its junctions with wing lights and was connected to a new dimmed circuit. 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
