Tony Whittingham
Hi all, I’m looking at the feasibility of converting the Revell DC-4 to a North Star, using modified Revell Shackleton engines. My understanding is there’s a 4” taper on the Merlin power eggs so they match up with the 60” dia. DC-4 firewalls. What I don’t know is how long the Merlin nacelles were from spinner backplate to firewall. It looks to me that I would be able to get to a DC-4M1 easily :), a pressurized M2 is a different matter. Space Ranger
I would suggest that you obtain Aircraft in Miniature's Transport Wings North Star conversion packs from Hannant's: https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/TWC72019 https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/TWC72020 https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/TWL72019 They should make the job much easier than what you propose. Admiral Puff
What Michael said. The AiM set involves much less pain (from one who tried to build an Argonaut from a Mach 2 DC-4 - pain on pain!)
