Jonners Posted March 14, 2019 Share Posted March 14, 2019 (edited) Hi folks, Here is my first attempt at a vacform - the elderly (originally 1973, I believe) Warbirds 1/72 Sopwith Snipe, rigged with EZ Line. There is a build thread across in WiP here: The kit comes on a single small vacform sheet with one-piece wings and wheels. The wheels are nicely moulded but, as half a wheel tends not to look right, these were replaced from the spares box. The kit undercarriage V-struts and propellor were filled with CA glue and used, but the rest of the undercarriage was scratchbuilt. All the struts were made from wooden cocktail sticks. Unfortunately the upper wing control horns snapped of while I was rigging them - I'll use fine wire or stretched sprue for that bit next time - taking part of the roundel decals with them. The subsequent touch-up still looks rough, so I'll probably go back and try to improve it sometime. Thanks for looking!
