Kind regards, Stix Thanks stix👍, I've not joined the fuselage halves yet because there's some delicate pe to add and turning the fuselage over would most definitely dislodge some of it, so the seams after joining up will be a bit of a trial, most of the fuselage is done, and the etch on the tail will give a clue on how I hope to display it when finished, some close ups The more I do the more I notice tiny details that aren't correct, i Could spend an absolute age on this, so there will be a couple of details amiss for the keen eyed, I wasn't too bothered about the lack of raised rivets on the kit when I set out, but if you go to the extent of adding 1-2 mm pe bits the lack of rivets hits you square between the eyes, atm I'm pondering on a 48th hasegawa aew. 2 and going totally overboard on it, but I've got to move this along first, when it's together I'll post some higher resolution photos, cheers Glynn The generator bulge on the dog house, Andy quite rightly pointed out its short, rather than adding plastic I'm going for a blended in filler remedy, 🤞
Hewy
The PE marathon continues The sponsons Don't know if this is a bit ott for 72nd, I reckon it looks a bit much, but I've made my bed now!

Thanks Alistair Probably the same method you use Alistair, I only use ca Most of the time I'll put a tiny dot of thick ca with a pin and place the part with a sharpened cocktail stick with a blob of blue tack on the end, and run thin around the edge with capillary action, for other parts I hold with a bit of tamiya tape first if it's got to be placed critically, (near as damn it) and run a tiny bit of thin to hold it and remove the tape and do the rest of the thin around the edges My glue of choice, it's expensive but I like it, my tiny application tool below
Hewy
One more for today and I'm giving my eyes a rest, can any one tell me what colour to paint the inside of the bay Edited May 4, 2019 by Hewy

Hockeyboy76
Great work Glynn, really looking like the sub parts of a Seaking. Not the correct mark, but you may enjoy, the other side is painted up as a Navy SAR bird, in fact I’m sure it was a Navy airframe painted in RAF colours. Hewy
@andyf117 I know those sponsons just look wrong, they'll spoil it, I'm going to remove the PE and try to recess it, trouble is, she's all buttoned up and the sponsons are on, still onward and upwards Did you notice I misread the etch instruction on the dog house and glued the grill and hand hold etch on in the wrong position, I've since removed and repositioned it also the kit instructions would have you glue a strait bar that attaches at three points under the front windows, you may see where I've filled these holes , I've not seen this bar on any royal navy sea king, or any other for that matter up to yet, the dog house is extended with filler and blended more in line with the 1/1, just read your next post I'm off to investigate Edited May 4, 2019 by Hewy

Hewy
With the benifit of hindsight I've removed the etch from the Sponsons, discarded some and recessed the discs (inspection covers?), and I took the plunge and joined up the fuselage, I'm aware the sponsons don't attach to the fuselage fully but leaving a gap like the 1/1 would have opened a whole tin of worms with the struts and width Issues, I reckon it looks better than before, with the etch just sitting on top

mirageiv
Outstanding details Glynn! How did you recess the etch discs? I'm not great with etch and one of the things that has always stopped me bothering was making neat recesses for all the panels Eduard etc..provide. David Hello David thanks , nothing more complex than drill bits I'm afraid, 3, smallest, for the pilot to the largest for the recess, (I tested on an old 48th sea harrier drop tank of a similar curve, to be sure I Could do it convincingly in 72nd) and luckily the drill bit I needed for the end was a router type I got with my dremel type tool, so it was nearly flat ended and made a nice recess, a coat of paint to do yet till I call it a success though, probably be the same for square panels with some deftly applied plastic putty, Glynn Edited May 5, 2019 by Hewy
modelling minion
Excellent work Glynn, she really is coming together now isn't she. I think the recessed details look much better and the whole effect will look fantastic.
Hewy
A bit of paint, also you might be able to make out andys rotor blade fix from one of his previous threads which I have shamelessly copied, I was going to have a go at making my own deflated radar bag but instead opted for the rotor craft one in resin Better pictures later
modelling minion
Very nice Glynn, the paint looks lovely and smooth. I think the resin deflated bag looks good and will certainly add interest to the finished model.
Dads203
Got to agree the resin bag looks much better than the kit offering, coming together now mate
