Been saving this for a “Special” Occasion, so Specialists fits the bill. 2 schemes to chose from and as yet undecided though both are same grey on blue colourway. Love a good 190 and a torpedo carrying one at that. It’s an Airfix new tool basic kit with bits for the torpedo and version from the original Revell kit.

welcome along with build #2 (or should I say #4), and this is a bit different!

This is not what you'd normally think of as a ship killer, so it's great to see the more unusual. It looks to be a nice straight forward build/conversion.

Again good luck with this build and look forward to see this one in the gallery as well.

I'll be tagging along for this one. I have the original kit in its various guises just not the torpedo bomber version. Will be interested how that builds up. Now that I think of it, I do have the nightfighter version... Hhmm...

Kind Regards,

Dazz

I'm interested in seeing how that torpedo turns out. If it's a good representation of LT-5f, or whatever torp Luftwaffe dropped from its He 111:s and Ju 88:s, it might be a reason to try and track exactly those boxings - and have the FW 190 kits as a bonus!

This is your chance to do a bit of stash dwindling if you have a few, Torpedo bomber ship killer, the night fighter Wild Sau with all the Radar bits (currently beyond my skill set or bravery to attempt) then the F-8 for tank killing in the Italy campaign...I have built 4 of the Revell ones in that guise and may look to enter another for the tank buster category as they are so enjoyable, plus that sand and spinach scheme looks great, il see if I have a photo

..the Revell kit does need just a tiny bit of care and effort but they do make a tremendous 190 when built, easy to build. If you want to pose canopy open though you need a bit of surgery, hence why I was going to swap airframes with a new tool Airfix F-8.

Build them all, as someone famously says 👍🏼

There was no instruction blurb part that details the aircraft or the torpedo, I will see if any of my refs detail it.

Hi Alistair, I’m glad you brought this up as yes it does have a longer tail wheel, looks like I will need to go with the original Revell airframe and closed canopy 😓

Here is the kit torpedo Vppelt68 if you are able to identify it from that?

Well here´s what the same company provides in their 1:32 He 111. Looks pretty identical to me! And yes, I know, models shouldn´t be used as a reference, but

LT-5f

I see that the tail wheel is moulded on to the fuselage on the Revell kit . Is it possible to alter airfix tail wheel or cut off revell and use that

Cheers

Alistair

I think removing the Revell tail wheel is a good idea, I shall try that, thanks
