Mig88
Hello! Here is my Hasegawa 1:72 Kawanishi N1K2-J Shiden-Kai (Early) which I built back in 2008. It represents 343-45, of the 343 Kokutai, 701 Hikotai, Imperial Japanese Navy Air Force, flown by First Lt Takashi Oshibuchi, from Kanoya Naval Air Base, Kyushu, Japan, April 1945. The kit was built mostly OOB. I just added some details in the cockpit. It was completely painted and varnished by brush. I had some problems with the decals partially of my own making, in particular the hinomaru which I ended up having to remove and replace with those from another sheet. Thanks for looking and all comments are welcome Miguel
jean
Hi Mig, I am no specialist of Japanese 2WW aircraft, but this one looks really impressive, and I like the paint work very much. The only thing I am not too keen on is the way you depicted the paint chipping: it may look better if the chipping was to be less diffuse. Sharper zones of missing paint may be more effective. Again, it is first and foremost a matter of taste, so what you like goes! Well done JR
Sturmovik
Well done! I'm surprised you didn't choose to use the decals for Kanno's plane. I have the same kit and plan to build it as such.

Looking through my notes, I probably overdid it due to some flaws in the paintwork and the troubles with decals. 1 hour ago, Sturmovik said: Well done! I built this kit together with four more in 1:144 scale (to be posted eventually) and I had already done Kanno's machine in one of the two "early" variants so I took the other option. kapam
Looks great. Your brush painting skills show off very well. As someone else said, paint chipping and choice of method is somewhat a matter of taste. Your chipping looks pretty cool to my eye. I also recommend silver Prismacolor pencil applied randomly on panel lines - it can look very realistic. 👍

Kapam, I have heard about it, thanks. I don't know if I can get it here but anyhow, I just about manage with my brush 😉! Miguel
