Tamiya 1:48: Dominic Gentile's P-51B Shangri La

Recommended Posts

A true classic, Tamiya's 1:48 Mustang B. I used the kit decals and sunk them into hot water, so they could soften up and sink into the panel lines.

Painted with Revell acrylics, the olive drab is Revell 66 Olive Grey.

Sturmovik,

Nice model of Gentile's famous and oft-photographed P-51B. I have attached a link to his story as well as photos of her last flight- a shame he put her in the dirt, as she might have possibly gone stateside for a war bond tour and might have ended up being preserved. A sad end to a Mustang and a sad end after  the war to the life of a gifted fighter pilot. Your model is a fitting tribute.

Thanks for the link 72modeler, I´ll make sure to include it in my YT video.

You are welcome! I found another good link that shows all of the aircraft that he flew- I thought you might enjoy looking at it.
