exdraken
hi everybody, for some reason I thought to lift my Spirit yesterday! Decals will most likely be from Begemot, kit decals are a bit darker, but look also good. (are only for older aircraft, without the nice gear bay door codes...) Revell B-2A Spirit 1/144 here is what you get, kit looks good, but simple you do not see many build, wonder why actually! Aftermarket is virtually non existent bar decals, so here we go! kit is said to be a reworked snap-tite kit, raised panel lines but apart looks the part! the cockpit, not much will b seen anyways I assume looks mighty impressive to me! no glue yet, some filler will be needed, at the joints I guess what is the color of a Spirit actually? Gunship grey? thanks for looking! Best, Werner Edited April 18, 2019 by exdraken
exdraken
some progress: bottom side: it will be gear down, but weapons bay closed. those SRAM missiles were never used, so..... not very nice, but still too much I assume shape looks definitely good to me! windows masked and here we go!
andy wood
It is a lovely little kit. I was quite taken by the moulding in the u/c legs. The only mods I made to my kit was to separate and split the airelons and drop the beaver tail. I had more fun masking and painting the various greys

(although some planes look like very uniformly painted!) main fuselage is glued together, outer wings still only snapped into place a small gap in the weapons bay doors.... engines housing fits incredibly good, some filler in the joints will help though to make it smooth!

exdraken
not too much interest here on the forum for the B-2 obviously, ok, surely not the best build and pictures some more progress, second coat of paint. (leading edges are masked to get some variation...) still some parts where the filler shines though.. what do you think about the color? The B-2 is somtimes looking like gunship grey, sometimes a lot darker..... I guess the RAM coating is to blame cheers, Werner Edited March 25, 2019 by exdraken

For me, the real thing is a bit darker (you can spay the Tamiya X-19 Smoke before applying the decals, it will be OK), but it’s a daylight and you’re outdoor. Good progress, Werner! I think it’s not so far away from the finish. 😉 Cheers! 🙂 1

exdraken
decals are on still have to tackle the slivering problem.... most likely due to my rough, the Stealth Coat replicating paint .... (joking of course.. it became a bit rough after coat number ~100... until I was satisfied with the shade...... ) the decals are great by the way... not for any real modern Spirit, but still ok! cheers, Werner

I hope the silvering will be not so obvious under the clear coat(s). Good work, Werner! 👍 Cheers! 🙂
Lex77
Well done, looking very good. Did you notice the wrong spelling in the decals? It says Washigton.

spruecutter96
Your Spirit is looking great, my friend. Still think she would look at home in a Star Wars movie. Thanks for sharing with us. Chris.

BigReg
It worries me seeing you hold your model out over such a large drop. Some good modelling there. David

Yeah.... the F-117, and shortly after the B-2! Incredible for how long they were / are relevant, no? Probably the slowest 20-30 years in aviation development since aviation itself On 4/20/2019 at 9:28 AM, Alan P said: I would've been interested but I missed it 😩 Nice work on what looks like a nice kit.
