Hello 🙂

I'd like to make a civilan french Hornet Moth so i'd like to know what could be the interior color ? I can imagine that it was a customer choice but me be one of you know what was the colours proposed by De Havilland ?

Light grey as for the Tiger moth (but in this case what was the leather seat color ?), red as we see on restored Moth ? I am perplex 🙂

Thanks a lot for your help

Best regards

Matt

The one at Felthorpe, which is green and gold is also a lovely maroon red leather, with polished wood IP.

I'd say go for the deep red. It does look very nice.

Cheers,

Martin

I've only just seen this as I've been out of the country. The cabin Moths differed to the open Moths which were usually painted Grey, until the military contracts specified Interior Green, in that the cabins were upholstered and a standard colour was a light Grey leather. However a customer could have whatever he wanted to pay for. Most of the surviving Moths have been the subject of rebuilds so the interior colour may now, not be original. The colour of the seats will often reflect the fuselage colour.
