Excellent finish on this plane. Looks like a 1/48 model. What theater was it in?

It was based in the Pacific -South West Pacific area -  No. 42-23224 was assigned to 1st Lt. Herbert B.Emerich of the 69th Fighter Squadron, 58th Fighter Group, 5th Air Force, 1944. The 69th was assigned to escorting bombers over New Guinea and sea convoys to Admiralty Islands. From Noemfoor, they bombed and strafed Japanese airfields and installations on Ceram, Halmahera, and the Kai Islands. I wasn't able to find out a great deal more about her or it's pilot - however I know 1st Lt. Herbert B.Emerich went missing on 26 December, 1944. I'm assuming his was flying Sleepy time girl at the time.  You can see his name on the monument "Walls of the missing" in Taguig City, Philippines.
