Hawker Hurricane Mk.1 P3675 UF*S, 601 Sqn RAF Exeter, Sep 1940.

Hi everyone

I'd like to show you my 1/48 Airfix Hawker Hurricane Mk1.

The model still needs some shoulder harnesses plus it needs a rear view mirror, these will be added in due course.

The Airfix kit builds up into a pleasing representation of the classic RAF fighter and it will look good in my cabinet.

Good looking Hurricane. That kit builds up nicely, for sure.

Did you forget to paint the exhausts? Looks like they could do with a bit of metallic buffing..

Very nice indeed,...... I did the same scheme myself a few years ago and also did the research for the Xtradecal sheet,...so it is nice to see it being put to good use!

I did give the exhausts a slight metallic buffing but as you've pointed out you cant really see the effect in the pictures, when I add the shloulder harness I'll have another go at it 👍

Hi Tony it was your build that inspired me to finish my hurricane in this scheme - great work on the decals by the way.

That is a gorgeous model! I hope to build one of the same aircraft next year for the Battle of Britain group build (albeit undecided on scale yet).

Did you use decals for the squadron marking on the tail flash? if so what company were they from?

Hiya

Thank you for your kind words. I sprayed the tail colours and used the Xtradecal set 48146 for the squadron marking.
I hope that answers your question.
