dalea
Contemplating my Amodel Ha-1109K-1L (ie. a Bf109G-2 with a HS-12Z engine), I note that Amodel recommends Humbrol 89 Mid-Blue overall. The box-art shows something a lot darker. Most models on the Internet are also a lot darker but I suspect they are influenced by Wings Palette. "Porsche Blue" as a description is not a help; look at the used car ads. Ps.1 Would this colour be the same as the Bf 109G's used in Russia? Ps.2 Is the underside colour used on the later Buchons in Spain be the same? Paint recommendation please.
VG 33
I think this is the same blue as on the other Buchons. I do not remember which one I used. Patrick
ivand
I seem to remember a thread somewhere in which it was alleged that the blue colour of the Buchons was, in fact, a Peugeot car paint. Humbrol 'garter blue' (previously 'petrol' I believe) supposedly being a good match. I'll see if I can retrieve the source.
dalea
Now that you mention it , I seem to remember the same thing. Could only find Garter Blue in Humbrol Acrylic, if I recall. ,
VG 33
Hello I have found my former build in 2015 of the Special Hobby 1/72 HA-1112 Buchon and the closest color I chose was FS15109 Xtracolor X124. Patrick

dalea
Thanks. Ivand. Sorry for confusing Porsche and Peugeot but neither is in my stash. Found my two pots of Humbrol Acrylic RC 404 once I started looking. Sad news about the Goss Green, though. And the undersides of the Merlin one are not the same, hooray!
