Also looking forward to this build.  In early 1961 I was serving in the RAF and was on a short detachment to the Institute of Aviation Medicine at Farnborough.  In April/May, RAE held an in-house display of specialist aircraft that were operating out of the airfield at the time, a mini SBAC show.  I remember that one of the aircraft on display was a KV107 type of helicopter in US civil markings, not sure why it was in this country, but that was the only occasion that I ever saw the type flying.  Robin.

No luck and I am figuring out the best way to render the clear parts of the square windows.

I am looking for Mattel vacuform machine that won't bankrupt me.

I am planning on making a male mold master with plasticard and vacuum a clear strip on it.

I would like to repeat the process to make the one HKP-4 with square windows.

Maybe an alternative to the vacforming: if you've cut out the new window layout, sand the outer surface thinner to accomodate the clear strip of plasticard. Then blend it in and rescribe. Finaly mask the windows and paint the fuselage.

Don't know if it's of any help. Hope you're civil V-107 is working allong and seeing the coffee I hope it's only a matter of time we see it 😉

Good luck!

I'm not sure if this is relevant to the conversation about the square windows, but here's how I dealt with the issue on an S61-L conversion.

It's similar to what 128fiddler is suggesting, but in my case I actually cut out a long rectangular hole from the side of the fuselage, which I then filled using clear sheet.  As you can see, I masked the windows before painting.

Cheers

Cliff
