Mikey-1980
Awesome!! Will you be painting it in the D-Day colours that Lakenheath have done with their own F-15's? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-47091176 https://theaviationist.com/2019/01/31/48th-fighter-wing-unveils-f-15e-strike-eagle-in-heritage-color-scheme/

The GR4 was supposed to be this build but when they announced the farewell special schemes I put it on the backburner to hang on for someone to release Goldstar tail. But actually im loving this Eagle kit and im glad this came first 😌

Tonka84
So made headway with pleasing results on fit and disaster struck twice, fuselage fell and hit floor cracking wing and I came to check clear parts and main canopy is cracked in corner 🤨 20190201_185535 by Rob Jones, on Flickr 20190205_121531 by Rob Jones, on Flickr
Tonka84
Apparently Revell do not keep parts either for replacement 😕 im stumped now
f111guru
Excellent choice and am a USAF retiree who had spent 3 years at RAF Lakenheath to send back to the US the F-4D Phantom and muster in the F-111F from January 1977 to January 1980. One of my eldest daughters friends joined the USAF and spent many years at RAF Lakenheath with the F-15. Your doing a smashing job and like the Revell kit. I have 5 and have built 1. Seems the fault of crashing during the build is part of the kit. Same issue but the other wing and fuselage. Press on Ron VanDerwarker
Tonka84
Repair job complete but still no idea with what to do about canopy? Any ideas? 20190201_200710 by Rob Jones, on Flickr

Matt P
Hannants do a replacement vacform canopy for the F15A/C models so you may be able to use that? It's designed for hasegawa kits but should be able to make it fit maybe? Their part number is falcon FNCV5428.
f111guru
Outstanding recovery!!! Shouldn't be noticeable in full color. Years ago I bought a bunch of vacuform canopies to work with and use in the event one split. Looking good Ron VanDerwarker
Tonka84
Would an A/C canopy fit an E? They're single seaters?

I can't really help but I guess your only options are to either wait and see if you can pick up a D or E model kit very cheap on eBay (if you're happy to have an open canopy then you should be able to get away with any manufacturers rendition) or alternatively, I've heard of people vac forming their own canopies but, I'd imagine that would be very complicated as you'd still need a kit canopy as a mold and you'd need to find someone with the gear to do it. So sadly I think you're going to have to wait for a cheap donor kit. Bad luck but you should definitely keep going.
Tonka84
So I don't think the wing repair looks bad under a bit of primer and the basing? 20190212_135521 by Rob Jones, on Flickr
Tonka84
And I have glued very delicately the cracked corner back on so I can at least proceed and I don't think it stands out that much but you can clearly see it🤔 20190213_100935 by Rob Jones, on Flickr
