Bjorn
A fun project to try to make something out of the 25-year-old Airfix kit: The kit is not that bad, recessed - although somewhat wide - panel lines and decent fit. But it is rather simplified, as if it was an upscaled 1/144 kit. I used a Neomega resin cockpit, which needed some fettling to fit. I also scratch-built FOD covers and lots of small details. Additional panel lines had to be scribed. I also used Quickboost air intakes and outlets and a Master pitot tube. Landing gears are pretty decent and needed only a little extra detailing: The decals are from a Model Alliance sheet and the model is painted with Gunze acrylics. This is the kind of build where you can spend hour after hour of extra detailing. But this was enough for me, so many compromises had to be made. But modelling must be fun, and this was fun! Thanks for watching!
jenko
That has got to be the best Airfix Jag that has been on BM. Brilliant Dick

triumphfan
Great looking Jaguar, well done. Love the details you have added, looks like just enough from the pics. I have one in the stash and also the Model Alliance 'Special Schemes' decal sheet. Can you tell me which Gunze paint numbers you used as I have become a bit confused with this. Atb, Steve.
bar side
Nice Jag. The shape always looks right with the Airfix kit, even if it is dated

Phone Phixer
Lovely finish on it, great job. A baggage pod fitted on the centerline pylon, you don't see that modeled very often
Bill.B
Very nicely done indeed, and I think the FOD covers are the icing on the cake.

I also used that sheet, but decided to make XZ103 without the special painted fin (which meant that I had to fix "EF" on my own, and use the Airfix blue/red decal on the fin. I used Dark Sea Grey Gunze H331 and Neutral Grey H53. I don't know if it is spot on, but it looks OK to me.
