MattCom
Hello everybody I would like to do a Miles M.11 whitney Straight in 1/72... but i am not very sure for my base... Is the miles magister could be a solution for wings or M.2 Hawk major from Plastic passion ? I am full of doubt :-) Thanks for your help :-) thanks Matt
CarLos
Hi Matt, I would use the Magister as a base for a Whitney Straight. In fact, I have a lot of Frog/Easter Express kits to make this and other Miles conversions... Of course you may use the better (but also more expensive) RS kit. If you compare the 3-view from both aircraft you will see that the wings are about the same. And it's much easier to modify plastic than resin, as it would be the case of the Plastic Passion kit. http://museumofberkshireaviation.co.uk/html/gallery/m14.htm http://museumofberkshireaviation.co.uk/html/gallery/m11.htm Carlos
John Aero
The wings of the Whitney Straight and the Magister were similar in profile , but not the same in structure. Th W-S had fold able wings. The tail plane and under-carriage were similar. Matt do you have drawings? I do have them besides these snippets. CarLos
In my previous message you have links for 3-views. The website of the Museum of Berkshire Aviation is very good, having drawings of most Miles designs. These are the same published in "The Book of Miles Aircraft". But I also would like to have better, more detailed ones! Carlos
