This is shaping up very nicely. I'm thinking Robocop on steroids, it's probably that big silver chest.

Cheers Monty! It's funny you mention robocop I keep thinking it looks like a baddie from it, I think because the head shape vaguely reminds me of Kane

Right little update time, the greenstuff joints are all dry; so I can start the painting!

Got all the bits that hadn't been given a gloss black undercoat sprayed first.

Then I cleaned up my airbrush and got out a bottle of alclad steel and got it all sprayed

I haven't used steel alclad paint in ages and I'd forgotten how much I love that shade of paint, very happy with it.

Next up I'll get the joint covers painted over in matte black and then I can glue his limbs and get the hands and axe sprayed.

Thanks for looking, more soon :)

Had some more shed time so I've done a bit more with this guy, so glad I've managed to keep the momentum up this project has really filled my mojo back up!

So the joint covers are now black, and also I've done a bit of panel lining. I did the lines the same way I've done on previous spiderman builds where there is a ton to do, i dont bother with gloss coats and pin washes I just use a black fine liner pen for ease and speed.

I also brushed some red onto the little vent details on the engines inside the pods, the are pretty much hidden but the vent bit sticks out so I though a bit of red will make an interesting pop of colour.

And after a proper look in the spares bin I actually found the sprue that has his hands and weaponry on!

I must admit now I've found them I think I'm going to drop the axe, I did think about him holding his original machine gun but the more I thought the more I realised I dont really want him to have any weapons, especially as the only other matching hand I have is from my other 1/144 Hi Mock kit which I would really rather keep complete.

Anyway with the panel lines done for now I've put all his limb bits on him, took a natural light photo as it was getting a bit dark and its easier to see what the alclad steel finish looks like.

Next up I'll get his hands sorted and the wing pods together and on and then its just a matter of decals, so not much left to do!

Thanks for looking, more soon! :)

  • Hunter Rose changed the title to Patlabor 1/60 Brocken - Custom Flight Variant

Right I've changed the title to make it a bit more concise as I was never really happy with the title of this topic and to be frank its a mess when you read through it as I kept changing my mind with what I was doing (it was a very stressful time when I was making it!) so sorry for that but man I'm so glad Ive reached the end of this build and got something off the shelf of doom!

I have got the decals on, as soon as I saw the jaws and eyes I wanted to use it, it was actually a leftover from a 1/20 Ma.k Fireball I made yonks ago and i was so happy that it fit like a glove! and its pretty much done now

I'll take a lot more better pics when I get round to putting this in the RFI over the weekend, as always thanks for all and any interest and comments, it always makes a build more fun! I'm pausing my sculpture topic for now and I have a big 1/6 3d printed deadpool model that is screaming to be built so thats my next project on the bench.

Thanks for looking, more soon :)
