Shackleton MR2 - Airfix 1/72

Recommended Posts

I have a thing about MPA.

This is another out of the box build only using Lycra thread for the aerial wire. I had no problems putting this together with the exception of the decal over the air scoop on the starboard side next to the large letter G. The liney probably should be in RAF blue overalls but I had this guy from another build at hand.

I really enjoyed building this and will do the AEW2 version at some point.

Cracking Shack that! Looks good with the white upper surfaces. Nice little diorama.

The pictures look a bit grainy on my screen, but your models seems to be a flawless built. The white and grey paint scheme is really attractive.

What does it say on the fuselage? "White Knuckle Airlines"? Anyone knows the story behind this?

When the squadron disbanded and the aircraft were being ferried home, this aircraft was painted up, I think partly in memory of all the trooping flights they undertook.

It is very nice model, I have the kit and plan on building an MR1when the Alleycat bits arrive.
