Just for fun and because it's really cheap, I've got a Tamiya 1/35 Leopard 1 (Kampfpanzer Leopard) and the only clue about painting in the instructions, is a mention of Olive Drab. Can anyone tell me more info about colour used to paint Leopard 1's.

thanks

Hi Mike

Seems to be Gelb Olive RAL6014.  Post war Bundeswehr used this through to the intro of the three colour scheme. Couple of links below which give some paint references of various manufacturers.

Don't forget that when that kit was new, some time around the Battle of Waterloo, we only had about 3 shades of green model paint, all Humbrol enamels..............

At least Valley has a version of that ral color in its lineup. Although it is much too dark for a scale model. But you can of course lighten it up.
