Canadian resources?

Howdy, this might be the wrong sub-section of the forum for this question, but I'll give it a shot...

Since I was last interested in this subject I've moved countries. I'm now based in Canada (I was in the US for a few years). Can anyone recommend good Canadian* online retailers for plastic model aircraft kits, tools, accessories, aftermarket stuff etc?

Thanks

* For those that don't live in Canada, it's not just the exchange rate that can get costly but the price of shipping from the US to Canada can be absurd.

Though I've only used it once, https://westcoasthobbys.com/ is a good one. I've never heard any complaints.

I'm sure there are others, but I almost always use Hannants. I can have items on my front doorstep 7 days after ordering. That's delivered up here to The Backside Of Beyond in a week. Not too shabby, in my book.

Have a look here though I have to warn you, email them before you place your order. The have this at the top of their homepage "Free shipping on qualified orders over $50.00!". Now I don't know what a "qualified order" is but apparently my part of B.C. doesn't count. I order 60$ worth of paint and when I hit the "total" button, my shipping went to almost 30$. Once/if our dollar gets to .80¢ I have a site in Japan that will blow them out of the water, shipping included. What I really need is a Canadian supplier for Mr. Hobby acrylics as the are the best I have used. The lower link is supposed to supply them but the last time I looked there was none in stock yet

Going by their phone number, they're in Toronto.

Yep. I emailed them about their "free" shipping policy and central B.C. doesn't qualify. I told him it was a shame that they were ripping off fellow countrymen and said that I would continue buying my supplies from overseas, excluding the U.S. of A.

Interesting... and right here on the island, too. Thanks.

Their shipping pages says that 'very remote' parts of Canada don't count for free shipping... where on earth are you?!?
