P-51C 'Apache II' Tuskegee Airmen

Recommended Posts

Dear all,

My Mustang trilogy continues with the Academy P-51C Apache II, as flown by 1Lt. Henry Perry from the famous 332nd Fighter Group, as it looked when it was based at Ramittell, Italy during 1944. I build it as a tribute to the famous Tuskegee Airmen.

I think the Academy kit is a delight to build and the Eduard Zoom set nicely finishes the cockpit off, especially since Academy allows for an open cockpit without having to resort to major surgery.

I did cut out the flaps and lowered them, as you never see a Mustang with flaps up when it stands still.

The decals are from an LPS Hobby sheet , as I wanted something different from what's in the Academy box. I did use the Academy wing striping though, with lots of softener.

Enjoy!

Peter
