Thanks for ideas! I 'm thinking of painting him in a different scheme then the one's shown on the box art.

I'm kinda leaning towards for the pants and leather jacket or something else for the jacket.

I also have a set of insignia and marking from alliance model works.

I had to find a photo as the book is  currently in storage. Heres the one book i have on the subject of WW2 Wehrmacht equipment and uniforms.

nSuZhuZ.jpg

It covers stormtroopers equipment, uniforms, weapons from 1914-1945. I bought it in the 1990’s when a friend and i were considering getting into re-enactments. We wanted to get accurate equipment. Not sure how much help it will be, but if you want i will dig it out ?

The Germans made their uniforms in many cloths, often cut to standard patterns. This was especially so as the war went on, so you can depict Heer, Waffen SS, or other camouflage patterns.  The Hitlerjugend division in Normandy famously kitted themselves out with supplies taken in Italy when they were moved there to prevent the country changing sides.  They took German-supplied, black leather U-boat outfits, and items of Italian camouflage (paratrooper I think).  These were common for the division in Normandy in June-July 1944.
