Attic Ghost...1/48 Messerschmitt Bf109G-6 JG300

Recommended Posts

Redecided and gave this another chance as ghost in the attic.

Unimodel kit with EagleCals, aircraft of Unteroffizier Klaus Lambio 9./JG300

Another model that flys to plastic heaven, sad but my dad needs new free shelf space.

Thanks!

My dad built that years ago, think it was a decal but can´t tell for sure anymore.

I've just realised from your other post that your Dad is clearing it out. What a shame but when needs must........

Yes, sad but true.

As mentioned in the other post, we thought about boxing them. But then again, where to put the boxes....need to win the lottery to build a new huuuuuge house 😁

If space is a problem, sell them online or to another modeller, nice and even poorly built models definitely sell. This is to nice to throw away, we do live in a throw away society nowadays. I lost out on a 1/72 Super Connie because the guy said it smelled of cig smoke, well look at what they sell for, just wash it right. If I have something that's pure junk (car models mostly), I have fun crushing it, if it's decent I keep it for parts or sell it, even if I don't get much for it.

Here's an idea which may help...

At Scale ModelWorld each year, IPMS(UK) is always looking to "give an old model a new home". With such a splendid collection, there may be a way that your father's masterpieces can be enjoyed by someone else.  Why not contact the Overseas Liaison Officer for IPMS (UK)  Roland Turner at:

Roland Turner

Home Address:7 Lansdowne Road
Erdington
Birmingham
B24 8AR

[email protected]

or the IPMS Germany contact:

Overseas Contact: c/o Volker Helms

Home Address: Alte Dorfstrasse 26A, 19065 Godern, Germany

I hope one of them may be able to arrange something with you so that heaven is exchanged for blue skies...

Good luck, your father has made some stunning models! Best wishes to you both.

Nick

Hi Reini,

To protect my models during the many moves I had in my life I ordered several custom made wooden boxes for transportation and storage. They have two levels and take 6 single seaters on each, i.e. 12 per box. The lower level is sized to also take medium bombers. If you only store fighters the box can be considerably lower and would fit under a bed for instance. They were not expensive, made by a local carpenter. I still have the construction plan. Mail me if you're interested and I will return the plan.

Gruß, Michael

hanks all for your sympathy and suggestions!

We already had that the last time I posted RIP models.  It´s hard to pack a model in a way so it doesn´t get damaged or destroyed in mail, guess that´s more work than building the model

Maybe I´ll save the one or other and store it in a box at the addict.
