Silverkite
Since my raid on the web left me still empty: I'm aware that cable bridle hooks were removed, by looking at some pictures it seems that they retained USN fairing but some other pictures are kinda foggy and it seems that the fairing was changed with AF covers, what's true? Was the upper reinforcement wing plate for the landing gear still there or not? Since I can't find any clear pictures of the bottom, the reinforcement plates were all the same for J/S aircrafts or they applied different ones? hidden request about cockpit differences Was that a light at rudder's base or just a clear antenna? Maybe more to come Luigi
Giorgio N
A few answers from the pictures and books I have on the subject - Bridle hooks area: all my pictures simply show the recess without the hooks - Upper reinforcement over the landing gear: it's present - Reinforcement plates: IIRC the J(UK) had the standard F-4S reinforcements. - Rudder: not sure wich features you mean here, as the rudder doesn't seem to have anything. The only features I see at the base of the vertical tailplane are an intake at the front and the fuel dump vent at the rear ( below the rudder) 1

Tony Thanks Tony, Speaking of drag chute doors there were only two types of them, one with ECM blister and clean, or there it was also a third version? Giorgio N
Luigi, maybe I misunderstood the locaton of the navigation light... on the F-4J(UK) the only white navigation light I can see on the tail is at the very top. Then there's a red light on the fin leading edge. On 2/13/2019 at 12:23 AM, tony.t said: The white navigation light on the fincap was relocated to the drag'chute door when the RWR pod was added. Tony I see that on the FG.1 and FGR.2, but on the J ?
tony.t
Yes, you're right; was thinking of the FG.1/FGR.2. The J(UK) kept the American fincap and light. Tony

Corsairfoxfouruncle
How sad to see the F4J in that condition. It deserves a better end than to just sit and rot.

It does, but it is serving a purpose where it is. Given how rare it is I hope it will get saved.
