Exactly.... we’ll you know what they say, you can never have too many kits in ones own GB. I’m now wondering what other up and coming GB’s I can potentially use to extend my own partial starters? Every stalled kit needs a second chance, so let’s see this one finished Pat old boy. Cheers.. Dave 3

JOCKNEY
Long overdue an update Crew painted and seated finally in position, fuselage went together better than I had feared and wing fit ok, with a little filler to finish off Like a muppet I lost the front skid, despite trying to find it, no joy. Therefor the plan is to make a replacement out of a cable tie. Homemade skid in position and painting started cheers Pat

Ventora3300
That's coming along great, Pat, aren't those stripes just a delight to paint (not)? We've got a 'flight' of these going now so maybe we should get together with @MrTand allocate sequential Squadron codes? All the best. Mike.

PeterB
Dave, At this rate, by the end of the GB quite a few of us will have increased the size of our stash instead of reducing it! Pete 1

Had Frog just finished a big order of combes and had a ton of plastic left over! Hi Stevie, most plastic granules are colourless in their natural state, the colour is added by means of masterbatch. Masterbatch is also supplied in granular form but is concentrated colour. Usually batch only comprises 1-2% of the shot size but can be more or less depending on the level of colour required. It is very expensive compared to the plastic so it is always good practice to use the minmum amount to get the required result. As Pat has a nearly see through kit I would think that the person responsible for keeping the MB hopper full let it run out & QA wasn't up to the job of intercepting the colourless product & the probably minimum wage operators couldn't give a toss & just packed everything that came off the machine. Greg Law
I just stumbled on an Encore kit I didn't know I had. Unfortunately it turned out to be a repop of a Heller kit, so doesn't qualify here. It is in perfect condition including the decals.
PeterB
Dave, Back in the 60's Revell introduced a range of cheap kits which included a lot of interestic subjects not covered by Airfix - Bf109E, Ki43, 61, 84 for a start and also some very useful WWI subjects - MS Bullet, Nie17 and 28, Spad 13, Sopwith Triplane, Fokker DVII to name a few. I still have most of them, but regret throwing my PZL11. About the only one I never bought was the Stearman PT17 Kaydet. Later they introduced some very useful kits such as the Ki21 and 49, P1Y1 and J1N1, together with the Ju88C, all of which I built. Like you I am tempted to re-visit some of those kits but a combination of cost, lack of space and potential female dissapproval is holding me in check for the moment. It's alright for you youngsters - you might have time to finish all your stash whereas I doubt I will be that lucky. Still my mother did live to 93 so maybe there is hope. I certainly need to speed up a bit so from now on there will be more virtually OOB builds starting with the Bearcat. Pete

JOCKNEY
Some long overdue progress to report, the canopy was a bit of a swine to fit, but here's where we are now So decals / transfers / stickers..... to add tonight and it will be done 🙂 Then is it going to be Avenger or Renzan ? Doubt I can do both as I have stupidly overlapped my hosting of this with the Flying Boats and Floatplanes GB ! cheers Pat
SleeperService
This could be considered for that Things not to go to war in GB. Absolute insanity. Returning to the Froggie Hurricane now I'm over the BlitzBuild GB. 1
JOCKNEY
As this is the limited edition see through version of a Novo kit the decals will be........ let's just say unusable ! Replacement decals were obtained via the Big H I haven't used Blackbird Models decals before, and unfortunately this also meant replicating a previous Hotspur already in the gallery. Fortunately the decals worked a treat, which means I can build my Novo version of the other 2 aircraft I hope you like it ! Now Avenger or Renzan ? Cheers Pat
Rabbit Leader
Got to like that one Pat,! I agree, it's hard to imagine three of these kits being build on here, so rare gems like this are always great to see. Cheers and well modelled.. You could always roughly paint out the 'D' and put an alternative letter in. Very unusual subject and well done indeed. Looks like a FrogFan behind the release of that sheet.
Johnson
Well done Pat, another nice Hotspur! Being one of those sad ***s who never progressed much beyond Spitfires and Sea Furys, I'd never heard of it before this GB ! It's been an education! PeterB
Looks good Pat. Interesting that both yours and that of Mr T have what I have always regarded as a Post War font style letter "D" ( I had a rant about this on my Shackleton thread). Clearly the subject is more complicated than I had thought so perhaps it was introduced for "non combat" machines before 1945/6. Of course the wartime fonts were subject to variation anyway so it could just be one of the many different styles painted. Two down two to go - have you decided which you are going to try and complete? Pete Edited September 4, 2019 by PeterB
