Speedbird 48
I had a bad experience in the past where hand painting on a clear coat in a cold basement lead to cloudiness developing inside the coat ruining my paint job. After that I was a bit skeptical to paint in anything except warm dry weather. Currently the temperatures in my home town are quite low, (In the 30s), and with 56% humidity. Would it be safe to spray on a gloss coat? Thanks
Black Knight
I reckon not. I warm my painting area with an old fashioned incandescent spotlight bulb in a lamp. A half hour or so of it shining on a model in a card box warms it all up nicely. Warning; do not get the bulb too close or it could melt the model
Chrissy_J
It's not recommended to spray =anything= when the air temperature is as low as you have, except maybe de-icer... You need a warm space to work in, even if it's a clean cardboard box. The lightbulb method suggested above is good, and you could try a small fan heater pointed into the cavity to warm the area, removing it when you work. It would do no harm to gently warm the model, either.
Corsairfoxfouruncle
You could also try heating the clear coat in warm(bath temp.) water, that might also help ?
