almac
Evening all. Here for your perusal and critique is my entry for the Grumman GB. As the title says it's an Eduard 1/72 F6f-3 Hellcat depicting a Hellcat flown by Lt Lochridge of VF-38 at Guadalcanal in 1943. The kit was the Profipack version with decals from a Weekend kit. The kit is a delight to build which you really have to try hard to mess up. I managed to break the gun barrels as I built it so I replaced them with Master P-47 barrels which look better than the kit ones. Paints are mostly Tamiya with some Revell white. Kitchen Modeller
This is great - very nice colour scheme too - don't see that one very often. You are right about the guns - they look awesome. I have this kit in the stash and you've made me very excited about building it...

Crane
Beautiful. How do you set your decals?
almac
Thanks Crane. The majority of the decals were put on with only warm water. I find the Eduard decals to be very easy to use and conform well to the model. I did use Microsol /set with the first star but this left a white residue on the Klear gloss coat so I didn’t use it after that.
