Plumbum
This is on the way. I have a Trumpeter 1/350 USS Buckey destroyer escort in an acrylic case and there's room for another ship, so I figured why not the Buckey's adversary a German WWII Uboot. The Buckley rammed and then sank U-66 in May 6, 1944, the plot was used for the movie "The Enemy Below", one of my all time favorite war movies. The kit should be here by early next week.---John
ArnoldAmbrose
Gidday John, I like the model, and your plans for a playmate for it. Good movie also, I saw it first in 1966. Robert Mitchum vs Kurt Jurgens if I recall. Regards, Jeff.

Plumbum
Step 1 : With a new X Acto blade installed cut the foolish gawdawfull box on top on 3 sides to form a proper top opening box. This is a MUST! At least for me it is.---John
Plumbum
The hull and deck are all assembled. A little sanding and I'll mask and paint the hull and deck. I am going to do U-96.---John
Plumbum
I have the upper hull painted a medium gray. Now I can add the dive planes, rudder and prop shafts then mask the medium gray and paint the lower hull and deck a dark gray.---John

robgizlu
Nice job John - watching with interest. I have the "Atlantic" version in 1/144. The VIIC is no longer available in that scale and I'm hoping that Revell will re-release it sooner or later.  I've been reading up on U-boats on this site which seems pretty authoritative.. https://amp.rokket.biz/docs/the_wolf_pack_compr.pdf  keep it coming Rob
