Michael M
😂 there is no white screen . I've drawn new PE railings and few other bits and just printed them on paper for shape testing.
Fizgig
I know it's a bit early in your build, but have you decided on what technique you're going to use on the water? I only ask because have just started to build the Mirage 1/350 Mazure and put her afloat. This will be my first attempt at floating my boat and am a little nervous (😨!!!) Need to try, till now I used very thin CA, and the paper gets hard so it can be sanded into shape, but it is also brittle..

Courageous
Well, that's not something you see every day, masking of a ship, thanks. @Bandsaw Steve might be interested in this after he asked the question on his Carpathia build.  Stuart

Courageous
Great to see what can be done at this scale and I'm sure it'll get more impressive as time goes on. Can I ask, what greys you have used before and after masking? Â Stuart
Michael M
Thanks. Decks: grey tamiya primer then shadows around superstructures and other protruding bits with XF24 misted over with base colour XF75. Then masking the shape of anti slip coatings. Again shadows done with XF63 then highlights with white, afterwards misted over with base XF77.

Jamie @ Sovereign Hobbies
That's not bad as a G20, and it looks in keeping with the scale also. The contrast between the two colours looks OK I think
Michael M
Grey is just primer, G45 is to follow 😉

Silenoz
Paper templates? Â Looks good, the trick with paper and CA I knew, but with the clear can be more handy, when it makes the paper less brittle... is it hard enough then so that you are able to sand the paper also then?
Michael M
You can, but I just trim it with knife first, and then sand the lot.
Terry1954
I somehow missed this one. What amazing modelling in 1/700! Really like your approach here. Â Terry
Michael M
Water of shame  ah well you can't win all the time. ArnoldAmbrose
Gidday Mick, what's wrong with it? I'd be very happy if I could do a seascape like this. Regards, Jeff.
